COVID-19 and Nikki Darling

What is Nikki Darling doing differently during the COVID-19 outbreak?

I understand that you may be feeling concerned about shopping, even online shopping, during this global pandemic. I will try to address your concerns here, but please feel free to contact me if you need further clarification.

During this time, Nikki Darling will continue to be operated solely by myself, with no other people entering the office or warehouse.

Aside from continuing to maintain appropriate hygiene measures such as hand-washing and keeping a clean and sanitary work space, I will also be sanitising packages that arrive from distributors and manufacturers before they enter the warehouse. 

WHO advises that the risk of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low, and the risk of catching the virus from a package is also low. If you are located in an outbreak area, I'd encourage you to wash your hands after opening your package and disposing of the external packaging materials - the contents will have had time to decontaminate inside the external packaging, but the external packaging is still handled during the delivery process! 

Will COVID-19 affect my delivery time?

Possibly. The current outbreaks across the country may cause delays, depending on your order's delivery route and destination.

I am following advice from Australia Post, who we use for all of our deliveries, both domestic and international.

Most orders are now back to being delivered within a standard time frame. There may still be some delays, as extra protective measures have been put in place to keep workers safe, especially in areas where there are active outbreaks and additional restrictions in place. 

I ask that you first check the tracking updates and Australia Post guidelines, but also invite you to contact me if you still have any concerns about delays to your area.

What else has changed with shipping?

We have been advised by Australia Post that any signature on delivery parcels will still require your presence, but your signature will be a verbal confirmation of your name instead of a physical signature. This applies both to deliveries to your home or office, and collection from post offices for missed deliveries. 

The Express Post Guarantee has been temporarily suspended. Express Post is being prioritised, but Australia Post are not currently able to guarantee that it will arrive in the usual Express Post time frame.

The tracking system is also experiencing difficulties. Please understand this is out of our control, and that the tracking may not accurately reflect the stage of parcel delivery for your order. Australia Post have updated their tracking information to reflect this.

As this situation is rapidly changing, I will try my best to keep the information on this site up to date, but please head to Australia Post Important Updates for the most up-to-date information regarding shipping.

Is Nikki Darling in danger of going out of business? Should I feel safe shopping with you?

You can rest assured that I have not and will not be closing the business due to COVID-19.

As a predominantly online micro-business, I am in a good position to keep operations functional. To date, the majority of our product distribution channels remain open, which means I can still receive stock. Please note that due to delivery delays, some items may be out of stock, or not yet arrived at HQ at the time of your order. To keep you informed, I am working to ensure that all affected products have a delay notification listed on the product page.

During this time, all in-person sales events and meetings have been postponed or cancelled.

Whilst this will be a challenging time for all sole traders and small business owners, as it will for so many other people, I feel confident that Nikki Darling can weather this storm with your support.
