Nikki Darling Does Melbourne!

We know we've been a little quiet on here for the last little while, but we've been busy out in the Real World popping up and supporting some kick-arse events.

We supported Hell Nice: Halloween Fundraiser: an awesome volunteer-run party that raised funds for Sisters & Brothers NT and Sistergirls and Brotherboys Australia (a private Facebook group that offers peer support and advocacy) - specifically aiming to help fund for Northern Queensland people to get to Alice Springs for the Anwernekenhe 6 conference.

We also donated a gift pack for the Northside Rollers Bingo Fundraiser. Northside Rollers are a women’s flat-track roller derby league, located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. They’re a not-for-profit association, owned and run by their members. You can find out more about roller derby and the Northside Rollers on their website.

The other fun thing we have been doing is popping up with some of our favourite sex educators at their events.

First up was at the Melbourne launch of The Atlas of Erotic Anatomy & Arousal with the amazing Cyndi Darnell. Cyndi does really important and exciting work in sex education and therapy, and the Atlas is such an incredible resource for adults and teenagers alike. Learning about our anatomy in a pleasure-focused and sex-positive setting is a far cry from the sex education many of us received in school. Watching the 'Pussy series' (Vulvapalooza & Squirts and Gushes: There She Blows) in a room full of people was a lot of fun.

Finally, we had an incredible time at the Melbourne launch of Coming Out Like a Pornstar, hosted by our dear friend Gala Vanting. Coming Out Like a Pornstar is an anthology edited by the one and only Jiz Lee with contributions from pornstars across the globe. We live-tweeted this one, but being there in person was a really special experience. A beautiful panel of fierce and intelligent performers and producers told us their coming out stories and answered questions from the audience.

We love meeting you and chatting about sexual health and pleasure in person, and you can expect a lot more appearances at Melbourne events from us in 2016.
